SF to promote as UNP Deputy Leader? PDF Print E-mail
Inside sources of the UNP claimed the party leadership’s decision to hand over the deputy leadership position to the former common opposition Presidential candidate Sarath Fonseka. However the rumors are yet to be officially declared by the party governance.

Meanwhile United National Party holding a media conference yesterday declared their official statement to contest for the General Elections under the traditional Green Elephant symbol. Speaking to the media, UNP parliamentarian Lakshman Kirialle stated the party’s final decision after the after conclusion of discussions with the District Leaders of UNP. He also invited other political groups to join hands with them at the future General Elections.

However the opposition parliamentarian declined to comment on any decision made regarding Sarath Fonseka, stating that he does not contain information along the topic.
