No truth in the allegations against Navy PDF Print E-mail
Sri Lanka Navy media spokesman Captain Athula Senerath stated that there is no truth in the allegation that Navy personnel were involved in the mysterious murder of Codbay Fishing harbour watchman.

On the 27th instant three drunk people have picked up a row with the Navy officers on duty at the Codbay fishing harbor and later on with the intervention of a police officer on duty the matter was resolved and the three drunk men were sent away. These three persons have started a boat went out to the deep sea and later on it has come back to the Bay and two men have parked the boat and run away.

The Navy and the police has investigated the matter and made necessary reports in this regard. Later on the fishermen of the area staged an agitation and blamed the Navy for the killing. Captain Senarath also said that this incident is the result of a clash between fishermen and investigations in to this matter is being held by the police as well as the Navy.
