Complaint against Channel 4 to be heard in England. PDF Print E-mail

The Off Com Center in Great Britain has decided to take up for hearing the complaint lodged by Sri Lankan high commissioner in England Nihal Jayasinghe alleging that the controversial video clip that came on Channel 4 TV channel in England supposed to have taken at the northern battle field is forged.

The National Telecasting Center in Britain (OFF-COM) has made this decision after they were satisfied with the details given in the petition filed by the High Commissioner. In his petition the High Commissioner has asked for a fair and thorough investigation in to this controversial tape acting on advice given by the President. He has also said in his complaint that the Channel 4 Institute has violated all accepted norms and procedures of media reporting in Britain. All necessary data and information to prove that channel 4 has tried to discredit the Sri Lankan govt and the defence forces through this process have also been included in this complaint. Sri Lanka will get the necessary permission to take legal action if the investigations of Off Com do not deal fairly in this regard.
